Time to Change - Your Batteries!

Wardens Office - Tuesday, October 07, 2014

Time to Change - Your Batteries!

As the time change approaches we want to remind you to make another change that could save a life.  Please change the batteries in your  smoke alarms.
Changing smoke alarm batteries at least once a year is one of the simplest, most effective ways to protect your business and your home. In fact, working smoke alarms nearly cut in half the risk of death in a home fire. Additionally, the International Association of Fire Chiefs recommends replacing your smoke alarm every ten years.
Have little ones trick or treating this year?  Make sure to have fresh batteries on hand to make their night a fun and not so scary event!

Old Farmers Almanac

Wardens Office - Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Farmer's Almanac

The old Farmer's Almanac is North America's most popular reference guide and oldest continuously published periodical.

The premiere issue of the old Farmer's Almanac was published in 1792 during George Washington's first term as president.  While circulation was 3000 that first year, it was so popular that circulation tripled to 9000 in its second year.  Based on his observations, Robert Thomas used a complex series of natural cycles to devise a secret weather forecasting formula, which brought uncanny results, and is said to be over 80% accurate.  Even today, his formula is kept secure at the Almanac offices in Dublin New Hampshire.
